Welcome to CarbonFarms.net!

Carbon Farms is a business focused on the principles of sustainability and developing a “carbon neutral” world by creating large scale carbon farms as carbon sinks and renewable forests.

How do we achieve a “carbon neutral” world.  A carbon farm reduces the threat of climate change by providing a simple and affordable way for any individual or business to reduce their carbon footprint.

Your carbon footprint is the amount of CO2 emissions that results from an individuals day to day activities.  We are ALL responsible for Global warming everyday when we use electricity to light or heat or cook in our homes, when we use natural gas to heat and cook, when we use fuel for our cars, when we use fuel when we fly.

The average Australian and American produces approximately 10 tonnes of CO2 each year.

This can be clearly illustrated using a sheet from Good Energy.  From that we can estimate the amount of energy services that emits a kg of CO2 (specific for the UK system).  A kg of CO2 emissions results from:

1.         operating an electric radio alarm clock for 23 days
2.         a 15 minute shower (or a 7 minute power shower)
3.         20 minutes of gas cooking, or one hour of electric cooking
4.         6 days of refrigeration (with a modern unit)
5.         4 km travel by car, 16 km of travel by bus, train or tube
6.         Using a computer for 5 working days (9 hours)
7.         Operating a lift for 40 minutes
8.         Less than 1% of the distance Heathrow - Paris by air
9.         Transporting 3 bottles of wine from New Zealand to the UK
10.       Transporting 25% of a Red Snapper from the Indian Ocean to UK
11.       9 steak pies made on-site using local produce

This is a global problem that requires a global solution

Carbon Farms have products and programs that help you or your organisation offset your carbon footprint.  New “carbon” plantations will be established in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Thailand.
